Connect Stripe Connect

Before you sell a single paid entry, you connect Stripe Connect Express. That's what lets you collect registrations. A fully free race does not need it. With Stripe Connect, funds go directly to your Stripe account, then to your bank account, and Chrono Corner never holds them. Here's how it works.

Start the Stripe onboarding

From your organizer space, follow the Stripe connection button. You land on a Stripe-hosted flow (Express onboarding), fully handled by them. You fill in the requested information, then return to Chrono Corner once you're done.

Identity verification (KYC)

Stripe runs a regulatory check before it can pay you out. You provide the following.

  • Your identity details, with a supporting document.
  • Your IBAN, to receive your payouts.
  • Your organization details, club, association or company, if you collect on behalf of an entity.

Validation can be instant, or take a little longer if Stripe asks for more. You're notified as soon as your account is validated.

No Stripe onboarding, no sales

As long as you haven't finished the Stripe onboarding, a race that sells anything paid cannot be published. It's a safeguard. We don't let you sell an entry until the money can actually reach your account. As soon as your application is submitted, the lock lifts and you can publish. If Stripe then asks for more information, your space shows you what is missing and by what date. If Stripe suspends your payments, the app warns you when you publish, and paid registrations fail until the requested information is sent.

Outside the countries covered by Stripe

If Stripe does not open accounts in the country where you are established, write to us before you create your race. We will look at how to collect your registrations with you.

The live breakdown

When you set the price of a category, we show the breakdown in real time, as you type the amount.

  • The price paid by the runner.
  • The Chrono Corner service fee, 1% + €1 per paid entry, nothing on a free entry.
  • The estimated Stripe fees.
  • Your net payout.

Payment methods and security

Your runners pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the local method of their country, iDEAL, Bancontact, Bizum, BLIK, MB WAY, right inside the registration flow. More options offered, fewer drop-offs at checkout.

On security, all processing runs through Stripe, one of the world's payment standards. Chrono Corner never sees your runners' card details. With Stripe Connect, money goes from the runner to your Stripe account without ever passing through Chrono Corner.
