Choosing a registration platform commits you for a whole season. Fees matter, but so does what the platform does with the runner list, license and PPS checks, the link with race timing and when the money arrives. This article first compares the published fees, then the criteria that complete them.

Criteria beyond fees

License and PPS checks

For a race on the French athletics federation (FFA) calendar, each runner shows a license or a PPS. The FFA specifications for online registration include a license and PPS verification service, open to platforms holding the federation's label. Before choosing, ask each platform how it checks these documents. The rules are covered in the article FFA license and PPS.

The link with race timing

The entry list has to reach race timing with bibs, distances and full dates of birth. Some platforms export a file for the timing software, others bring both together. The more steps between registration and results, the more re-entries there are to check.

Payouts

Depending on the platform, money arrives as entries come in, on request as an advance, or after the race. Engage Sports, for example, offers advances on request and a payout on the Wednesday after the event. With Chrono Corner, revenue goes to the race director's Stripe account.

Who each platform serves

HelloAsso serves nonprofit associations. njuko serves race directors who collect payments through their own payment gateway, with modules priced individually and eleven currencies. The other platforms in the table serve race directors in France.

What Chrono Corner offers

Chrono Corner is a registration and chip timing platform for road races, trails, canicross and backyards. Ticketing costs 1% + €1 per paid entry, nothing on free entries and no commission on a charity race. Race timing is booked in the same place, €478 for the weekend plus €1.28 per registered runner, as detailed in the article how much chip timing costs.
