Create my first race
Updated October 2026
Publishing a race on Chrono Corner takes five steps. Plan for under 15 minutes to go from a blank page to an open registration page. Here is the path, in order.
For now, the races we time are created and managed on throwdown.live, the platform of the same company, with the same screens.
1. Fill in the details
In the Detail tab, set the basics of your race.
- The name and a rich text description (headings, lists, bold).
- The event dates and times.
- The address with autocomplete, plus the access info your participants need (parking, accessibility, food).
- The type, on site or online.
- The private setting if you want to keep your race accessible by link only, without listing it in discovery.
2. Connect payments
As soon as you sell anything paid, race entries, the Flex option, shop items or spectator tickets, publishing requires a payment collection method. A fully free race publishes without one. In most cases, that is Stripe Connect. Payments go directly to your Stripe account, then to your bank account. Complete the onboarding once and it applies to all your future races.
If Stripe does not open accounts in the country where you are established, write to us before you publish.
The full walkthrough is in Connect Stripe Connect.
3. Create your categories
Each division is a category of participants, a distance or a format for example. For each one, you define the following.
- The team format, individual, duo, team or mixed.
- The category rules, in rich text.
- The price, in your race's currency, and the number of spots (quota), with an automatic move to the waiting list once Full. You choose the currency from 20 in the Payment settings.
As you enter the price, the payout breakdown updates live. You see what the runner pays, the Chrono Corner service fee, the estimated Stripe fees and your net. The service fee is 1% + €1 per paid entry, and nothing is charged on a free entry.
For a race on the French athletics federation calendar, add the license or PPS number, its validity date and an attestation box to the information you ask for at registration. Never ask for the health questionnaire or its answers.
4. Prepare the schedule
A race is ranked on time. Prepare the schedule by days, start waves and slots, and the start order of the categories. The guide Set up my start waves covers every setting.
You can adjust this part after publishing, without blocking registrations.
5. Publish
At the top of your space, the selector shows that your race is hidden. Switch it to published. Three things are required. The race logo, used for shares and emails. The organizer's name, in the Organized by field of the details. And a payment collection method if you sell anything paid. A first publication may be reviewed by the Chrono Corner team before it goes live. The answer then arrives by email, within one business day.
Your page goes live with its three tabs Registration, Schedule and Leaderboard. Runners register and pay within the registration period you have set. You stay free to edit categories and schedule at any time.
